How it works

  1. Add the connector

    Paste one URL into Claude's connector settings. Nothing to install.

  2. Sign in to your accounts

    Approve access with your own FreeAgent login, so everything Claude records is filed in your name.

  3. Ask in plain language

    Tell Claude what you need. It reads, records and checks the work in your accounts as you go.

What Claude can do

  • Banking

    List transactions, match payments to invoices and bills, record transfers, attach receipts, and tag costs to a project to bill on.

  • Expenses and mileage

    Create, correct and delete expense claims; file mileage at your account's own rate.

  • Sales

    Raise and edit invoices, estimates and credit notes, and email them to clients when you say so.

  • Bills

    Record supplier bills with the receipt attached, from a link such as one found in your email.

  • Contacts, projects and time

    Manage clients, suppliers, projects and tasks; log and correct time.

  • Reports and tax

    Profit and loss, balance sheet, cashflow, aged debtors and creditors, VAT returns and tax deadlines.

You stay in control

  • No copy of your accounts

    The connector passes your requests to your accounting software and the answers back to Claude. It keeps no copy of your accounting data or your sign-in. For billing it keeps one record per person.

  • Your own login

    You approve access through FreeAgent's own sign-in page. Your password never passes through the connector, and you can revoke access at any time.

  • Asks before it acts

    Claude asks before changing anything significant. Emailing a client, taking a Direct Debit, posting a journal or changing who has access each need your explicit go-ahead.

Your accounting software doesn't offer limited permissions, so approving the connector gives Claude the same access as the person who approves it.

Connect it

  1. In Claude, open Settings → Connectors and choose Add custom connector.
  2. Enter this URL: /api/mcp
  3. Choose Connect, sign in to your accounts and approve access. Approve it with your own login: everything Claude records is filed in your name.

Which Claude apps does it work with?

Which plans do I need?

A Claude plan that lets you add custom connectors, and a FreeAgent login that can approve apps for your company. Whoever approves the connector gives Claude the access their own login has.

What happens when the trial ends?

Claude tells you the trial has ended and gives you a link to subscribe. Nothing in your accounts changes, and you can still ask for your subscription status. Once you subscribe, Claude carries on where it left off.

Can more than one person use it?

Yes. Each person connects with their own login and has their own 7-day trial, then their own £3 subscription. So two people in the same company each subscribe.

I work in more than one company. Do I pay for each?

No. Your subscription is yours, not the company's: one £3 subscription covers you in every FreeAgent company you connect, whether that's your own business, a client's or a family member's.

How do I cancel?

Ask Claude for your subscription status and follow the manage link. Cancelling stops future payments, and access continues to the end of the month already paid for.

How do I disconnect?

Remove the connector in Claude's Settings → Connectors. To cut access off at the source too, revoke the app under Settings → Approved Applications in your FreeAgent account. Cancelling your subscription doesn't disconnect it, and disconnecting doesn't cancel your subscription.

What happens to my data?

The connector keeps no copy of your accounting data or your sign-in. For billing it keeps one record per person. The privacy policy has the detail, and the terms cover the subscription.

Is it made by FreeAgent?

No. Talkkeeping is built and run by Oxygen Bubbles Limited and works with FreeAgent through its public API.
